Don’t worry, I did not take this selfie while driving. I was safely parked and about to go for some shopping. The sun was setting and I was hit by a soothing ray of light. I found this moment to be poetic. A kind of sign to motivate me to go out and be myself. Something that I had been struggling for in the midst of becoming Cassidy. And by that I mean, as I’ve been becoming the trans woman I was always meant to be. Now, you should see all the beautiful dresses and clothes that I got on that shopping spree at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. That little boost of morale cost me a fortune haha. I might have to retain some of those as I am having buyer’s remorse haha. I am only 28 and still have to deal with those pesky student debts.
Moreover, I don’t expect to have the same kind of experience once I find myself a boyfriend. There’s obviously no purchase involved, but there’s commitment and feelings. A deeper form of currency in my opinion. Yup, I know, I am quite strange with this esoteric stuff. But I believe it makes me charming. Now to find a guy who thinks so too. The one who’ll be my real ray of sunshine.
